We have been seeing a trend of Low-Max records being broken this year, and it continued in September. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), between Sep. 11th and Sep 20th, 1,413 Low-Max records were broken, and another 282 tied. One record was broken by an incredible 25 degrees Fahrenheit (Mount Rushmore, South Dakota). That means that it was the COLDEST it has EVER been in 1,695 different spots in the United States!! This indicates daytime cooling, and with Fall in mid-season, this could be a forewarning of some serious cold weather this Winter.
